Influential Analyst Cites Itiva Networks as a Key Technology Developer Enabling Next Generation Web Video Services

Itiva Networks Also Receives Industry Recognition as a Finalist in Streaming Media’s Inaugural Readers' Choice Award to be Announced at Streaming Media West this Fall

Palo Alto, Calif. – Sept. 5, 2007 - Itiva Networks, the on-line Video Content Delivery Solution for high quality digital assets, today announced that David Mercer, Principal Analyst at Strategy Analytics, has described Itiva as being among the key technology developers bringing down the technical barriers to delivering online High Definition TV.

In a preliminary summary of this latest report from Strategy Analytics Digital Media Strategies service, Mercer said that HDTV is set to become a reality. In a public statement, Mercer said that tomorrow’s web users will expect service quality much closer to television and major content producers such as movie studios recognize that they will have “to step up to this mark to win and retain web viewers."

Strategy Analytics will present the findings of this research at its latest Analyst Forum Sept. 6 during this year’s IBC in Amsterdam. The report discusses the implications of high definition streaming and examines some of the key emerging digital media solution providers.

As online video demand and consumption explode, first generation, edge-server-based Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) are under stress and incapable of delivering large video files the way end-users want to view this rich content. Itiva Networks resolves core network saturation by making clever use of servers, proxies and managed peers to reliably sustain a high quality of service at the lowest possible cost resulting in a high definition, full-screen experience for the viewer and a scalable and capital efficient solution for the content owner.

As a hybrid CDN solution, Itiva has not gone unnoticed in the marketplace. Itiva was recently named a finalist in the P2P Delivery Network category in Streaming Media’s first Readers' Choice Award, which will be unveiled during Streaming Media West Nov. 6-8 in San Jose. Voting is open until Sept. 7 (www.streamingmedia.com/readerschoice).

"I can't think of a better testament to the growth and strength of the streaming media market than the fact that more than 100 companies nominated well over 200 products for our first annual Readers' Choice Awards," said Streaming Media magazine editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen. "Enterprise, education, and entertainment users have more choices than ever, and every nominee represents either a tried-and-true solution or an innovative new approach to delivering digital media online."

“We are elated and honored that key market influencers such as analyst David Mercer and Streaming Media have taken notice of our hybrid CDN solution,” said Michel Billard, president and CEO of Itiva Networks. “The promise of true video online is just now finally springing to life and we are excited to be part of these changes radically transforming the way people communicate. Itiva is well-poised for rapid growth as demand and consumption for online video continues to proliferate and accelerate.”

Itiva, Billard added, continues to gain market traction as the company remains committed to adding new features and functionality to its solution, recent additions include Mac OSX compatibility and Linux support. Improved end-user experience has additionally been bolstered while the company reports 100% service uptime over the last year. Itiva is also working closely with customers to showcase their content and is actively working with them to establish new business opportunities for them through compelling video experiences with integrated monetization features.
